Dunfermline Athletic brought in Ugandan international Allan Oyirwoth on loan from New England Revolution until May 2027, with an option to buy.
The tall, athletic midfielder, known for his running and attacking style, fills a key gap in the team’s midfield as noted by head coach Neil Lennon, who has tracked him for months.
Fans warmly welcomed the move, dubbing him their ‘Ugandan Prince,’ on a day the club also signed Nigerian forward Olamilekan Adams.
Oyirwoth will don shirt 19 whilst Olamilekan will put on shirt 99.
Dunfermline Athletic features in the Scottish Championship.
Oyirwoth has been with the New England Revolution II this season, featuring 15 times and scoring once.
For the senior side, he made three appearances and has won three caps for the senior national team, Uganda Cranes.
Background:
Oyirwoth hails from Pakwach in West Nile region of Uganda. He attended Kibuli S.S and Amus College before he featured at the Brooke House College and Academy in Leicester, England.
Whilst at Amus College School, he was Most Valuable Player (MVP) during the national championships and finished top scorer at the 2023 International Schools Football (ISF) in Rabat, Morocco.
He won Silver during the 2023 African Games when Uganda Cubs fell to hosts Ghana in Accra.
