Frank Katongole was overjoyed following a winning debut at BUL as they overcame visiting Express 1-0 at Fufa Technical Centre, Njeru.
The midfield enforcer was a second half substitute as BUL held on for maximum points in their 2026/27 league opener.
“To start on a winning note is beautiful,” Katongole told Kawowo Sports. “We had a good performance as a team against a difficult opponent and happy for the lads, the coaching staff and the fans,” he added.
Katongole joined BUL from champions Vipers where he graduated from the junior side before he broke into the senior team.
The 21-year-old now looks to establishing himself as a starter at his new home and is confident of achieving the feat as he also targets national team football having represented Uganda at all youth levels; U-17 & U20.
The defensive midfielder could be considered for the Uganda Kobs who are set to take on Ethiopia in the CAF African Cup of Nations U23 qualifiers.
