Uganda Premier League side UPDF has confirmed the signing of Hussein Mbalangu as their new head coach.
The development was confirmed today, Tuesday, June 30 via the club’s official social media platforms.
“We are thrilled to announce that Mbalangu Hussein has officially reported for duty as our new Head Coach,” the statement partly reads.
Mbalangu finds a new home after a short stint at URA shortly after he part ways with NEC FC where he achieved alot in the domestic league.
The Bombo-based side nearly faced the relegation sword finishing a point above the red zone.
He replaces Alex Gita who parted ways with the Army side at the end of the just concluded 2025-26 league.
He will be fully responsible for the Army side’s rebuild as the transfer window officially opens on Wednesday, July 1 and will end on September 19.
The Uganda Premier League will kick off on August 28 while the fixture is expected to be released midway of the middle of June.
