Inaugural football governance & business summit primed to build professional football eco-system in Uganda, East Africa

The football fraternity is braced for an all encompassing football governance and business summit due on the 3rd to 4th September 2026 at the Bamus Sarovar Portico Hotel in Kampala.

According to Pauline Mbanza, the key brain behind this summit, all football stakeholders and enthusiasts will be part of this transformative summit.

The football governance and business summit will happen between 3rd to 4th September 2026 at the Bamus Sarovar Portico Hotel in Kampala. Key focus will be how to bridge the governance gap that exists in the football eco-system. From players’ contracts, legal frameworks, intermediaries’ tasks to formalized safe-guarding policies especially for academies, the summit will have it all. This is just the beginning. Our vision is an annual event that expands across East Africa, eventually covering basketball, athletics and other sports as a regional hub for sports governance, law and professional development.

Targets:

This football governance and business summit will be dwelled upon the key aspects of increasing legal awareness of player rights, contracts and legal protections across Uganda’s football community; regional capacity for sports lawyers, intermediaries (agents) and club administrators, promotion of child safe-guarding, advance women participation and rights in the football eco-system, educate football stakeholders on the available dispute resolution mechanisms as FUFA, Dispute Resolution Commissions, Court of Arbitration For Sport (CAS) and FIFA Tribunals.

This congress will also help to promote compliance with FIFA’s football agent regulations among Ugandan and regional agents.

Packages available:

Individual participants will pay Ug.Shs 150,000 each whilst international participants pay $ 80 each.

Academy delegation, tailored for specialized academies will pay Ug.Shs 300,000.

Club executive package (structured for senior leadership without direct player attachment structures) will pay Ug.Shs 500,000 whilst club executive (with players shall pay) Ug.Shs 350,000.
